Taylor Red singer Nicole Taylor has died of cancer, her sisters and bandmates have revealed.
Taylor Red singer Nicole Taylor has died of cancer.
The Country Money singer's triplet sisters and bandmates, Nika and Natalie Taylor, have been left "heartbroken" after their sibling passed away on 28 September at the age of 35 after being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.
Nika said in a TikTok video: “We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of our sister Nicole Taylor.
“We honestly thought she’d be healed here on earth, but now she’s healed in heaven.”
Nicole was diagnosed with stage three cancer in 2022 and initially responded well to treatment, before it returned at stage four "nine months later".
The sisters praised Nicole for her "fearless" battle against the disease.
Natalie said: “It was an aggressive type. In her words, when she first found out, was ‘God’s gonna use this for his glory.'
“She thought it fearlessly and she said, ‘We’re not going to live in dread during all of this.’ And she even did CrossFit while she was with her chemo treatments. She responded well to treatments and she was declared evidence without disease.
“Then after that she was told it turned into stage four. She tried not to live in fear, remained really hopeful. She traveled, she tried to live life, she worked really hard, she tried to have fun.”
When she was told her cancer had returned, Nicole was given "around three months to live".
Nika recalled: “[The doctor said] if the treatments worked, they didn’t know how long after that."
But she “lived around a year after that prognosis” and tried to live as normal a life as possible.
Nika said: “During the time of the more extreme diagnosis, we felt led to not live in fear and claim healing."
Natalie added: “She said she had so much peace and we’re really thankful for that.
“We are still shocked and didn’t think this would happen, but we know she’s not suffering anymore.”
The sisters also shared an emotional YouTube video, in which they admitted Nicole's terminal diagnosis came as a "big shock".
Natalie tearfully said: “We’re still processing everything. This, honestly, feels really hard to talk about, but we’re going to do our best to share her story.”
They shared a clip of Nicole in her 20s discussing her faith in God, which they said had helped her during her illness.
