Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is urging people to sign her petition calling for changes in how social media platforms handle reports of "targeted harassment and cyberbullying", following the sudden death of her ex-fiance Ken Urker.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that officers were called to a residence in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday (01.10.26) - his 34th birthday - after receiving a call at 6.15pm, and Ken was "found dead upon arrival", with his cause of death yet to be determined.

Three days after his passing, Gypsy-Rose, 35, took to Instagram to promote her Change.org petition, Support Kenan's Law: Fight Online Harassment.

It has been created in his and her daughter Aurora's dad's honour to "change the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment".

She posted a screenshot of the petition, with the caption: "I only have my daughter and my voice. In honor of Ken, I am asking for your support for Kenan’s Law."

Gypsy-Rose then claimed: "Before his passing, Ken experienced an overwhelming amount of online scrutiny and what we believed crossed the line into targeted harassment and cyberbullying.

"Reports were made across multiple platforms, and far too often, the response was simply: 'No violation.' (sic)"

She continued: "Kenan’s Law is about changing the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment.

"One post viewed alone may not tell the whole story - but hundreds of posts, videos and comments directed at one person can reveal a pattern that deserves meaningful review.

"This is not about silencing criticism or taking away anyone’s freedom of speech. Public figures can and should be criticized. But public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someone’s humanity. (sic)"

Gypsy-Rose hopes to honour Ken's memory by helping bring about change.

She concluded: "Ken’s passing has made me determined to turn pain into purpose. I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening.

"Please sign and share the petition to support Kenan’s Law.

"Fame does not erase humanity. A pattern cannot always be understood one post at a time. (sic)"

According to People, Gypsy-Rose is yet to consult with a committee but has enlisted a lawyer based in New Orleans to help shape the proposal.

At the time of writing, over 2,900 people have signed the petition.

Days ago, Gypsy-Rose said she believes Ken died after an apparent overdose, despite his cause of death being yet to be determined.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she suggested her former fiance overdosed, adding: "I don't know if it was intentional or not.

"He was not in a good state of mind lately."

Gypsy-Rose told the outlet that she is in "disbelief", adding: "I can't think. I've screamed until my heart burns."

Meanwhile, she also spoke to TMZ and said Ken did not have a drug problem, and she "had never seen him partake in drugs or other substances".

Gypsy-Rose claimed that an unidentified substance was discovered where he died, which has prompted her belief that it is what caused his death.

However, she noted she does not know what the substance was, while remembering him as "a responsible person who was intentional about being a father and partner".

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed his tragic death, as they told The Hollywood Reporter: "We responded to a residence at 107 Double H Drive, Lot 4, in Raceland today after receiving a call at 6.15pm.

"Kenan Urker, 34, was found dead upon arrival. At this time, we are continuing the death investigation."

Gypsy-Rose described her late partner as "an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved".

In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, she said: "He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase."

Gypsy-Rose and Ken met when he started writing her letters in 2017, while she was in prison.

She was released in 2023, having served eight years behind bars for her role in the second-degree murder of her mom, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard.

He proposed in October 2018, and after a brief split, the couple reunited in August 2019.

They later split for several years, during which time Gypsy-Rose married Ryan Anderson, the year before her release.

She and Ryan separated in 2024, and Gypsy-Rose reunited with Ken, while they welcomed Aurora into the world in December that same year.

They appeared together on the Lifetime show Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup.
