The 36-year-old actress stars in Taylor's Patient Zero music video alongside Colin Farrell, and Dakota has heaped praise on her showbiz pal.
She told Extra: "It was so special ... We’re so close and to be able to work with your friend and have it actually go well and then also, like, feed each other’s creative minds … She’s such a good director and she’s a true visionary.
"It was, like, easy for me to just, like, I don't know, it was very symbiotic the way that we work."
Dakota is now preparing to host Saturday Night Live, the long-running comedy sketch show, for a third time.
Looking forward to the challenge, Dakota shared: "I’m so excited. It’s truly my favourite place in the world. I just came from there.
"I was literally like wheeled down the hallway on like a little wheelie cart because I couldn’t walk that far in heels in my dress. So, that’s how I got here … I would never say it’s easy because it’s always nerve-wracking, but it’s so much fun."
Meanwhile, Dakota recently revealed that she and Taylor talk about true crime "a lot".
The brunette beauty - who plays a woman involved in an abusive relationship in the Patient Zero video - told BBC Radio 1's Greg James: "Taylor and I are really good friends, and we talk a lot about everything, everything on the planet.
“A lot of that is true crime, and she’s a genius person, and if you talk about world-building, I think the inside of her mind is this miraculous, intricate wonderland.
“And so, she asked if I would do this, and of course, I’ll do anything with her; she’s the most fun."
Dakota was among the guests at Taylor and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden in July, and she cherished the experience.
The movie star said: "It was so like … everything she’s dreamed of. It just felt so completely her."
