Presley Gerber's last public girlfriend says he 'fought so hard for his life'
Reality star Lexi Wood - who dated Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s son in 2022 - took to Instagram to share pictures and videos of herself and Presley together, while adding in the caption that he “fought so hard for his life”.
Presley Gerber’s last public girlfriend has paid tribute to the model following his shock death on Sunday (20.09.26).
Reality star Lexi Wood - who dated Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s son in 2022 - took to Instagram to share pictures and videos of herself and Presley together, while adding in the caption that he “fought so hard for his life”.
She wrote: “It’s hard to put into words what it means to lose someone who was such a meaningful part of my life for so many years. Through every chapter and every version of our relationship, friendship was always at the core of it.
“Everyone who loved Presley and was loved by him knows he was one of the kindest, most open, loving and courageous people.
“He loved so deeply, so purely, was incredibly romantic and thoughtful.”
Lexi, who is most famous for starring in reality show Summer House, went on to praise the 27-year-old’s “resilience”.
She continued: “He was also incredibly resilient. He fought so hard for his life and he was brave enough to be open about that fight.
“More than anything, he wanted to use his story to help other people, and he did.”
Lexi concluded by saying she’ll always treasure her memories with Presley, as she wrote: “I feel so lucky to have shared so many years of friendship, so many memories and so much love with him.
“He will always hold such a special place in my heart, and we will all miss him forever.”
Presley is believed to have died from a cardiac arrest following an apparent overdose, with police called for an overdose in the Santa Monica area on Sunday morning.
The dispatch call also noted cardiac arrest.
Presley is survived by his mother and father, as well as Kaia Gerber - his younger sister.
An insider told People that the family are “heartbroken” following Presley’s death, with Kaia particularly struggling with the loss.
The source said: “Kaia loved that Presley was so open about his struggles; his family was so proud that he was finding strength in helping others."
Before his death, Presley was candid about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, explaining that he didn't want other people to repeat his own "mistakes".
In September, Kaia also reflected on Presley's addiction struggles, and explained how it had shaped her own character, too. The 25-year-old model told Vogue: "When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone. "I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing."
