Suki Waterhouse has recalled her early days in the music business.
Suki Waterhouse was sensitive to criticism in the early days of her music career.
The 34-year-old singer released I Can't Let Go, her debut album, in May 2022, and Suki has now admitted to being particularly sensitive to criticism in the early stages of her music career.
The actress-turned-singer - who has also modelled for various well-known brands, including Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss - told Interview magazine: "I remember when I first put out my first song and there were all these articles that it failed to chart, and then I did a show, and someone came to the show and wrote that there’d been two false starts and it was the worst show ever and a failure. I remember that s*** really bumming me out.
"It doesn’t stop you, but I did have that feeling for a long time.
"When you’re younger and you’re trying to change a path, or the way that people see you, and now I feel like I’m broken through on the other side of that in a way."
Meanwhile, Suki recently revealed that she hopes to make a return to acting one day.
The London-born star intends to return to acting at some stage, but Suki is currently firmly focused on her music career.
Suki - who has been engaged to actor Robert Pattinson since 2023 - told Variety: "The desire is still there completely.
"It’s really a thing of managing when. Because tours get booked up, and then trying to manage having a family at the same time."
Suki also admitted that the movie and music industries are very different.
The actress - who previously starred in films such as Love, Rosie, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, The Bad Batch, Assassination Nation, and Detective Pikachu - said: "It takes a long time to get to a place where you have a bit more of a voice — especially in that industry.
"Being a young woman is f****** brutal. And then when you get older, you realise that no one really has any idea what they’re doing."
