Hollywood star Adam Scott: Alcohol is poison
Movie star Adam Scott has opened up about his sobriety journey.
Adam Scott stopped drinking alcohol 12 years ago.
The 53-year-old actor has been sober for more than a decade - but he insists it "wasn’t a thing".
During an appearance on Therapuss, Adam shared: "I don’t drink. I stopped drinking like 12 years ago and it wasn’t a thing. I was never a big drinker, I just kind of faded it out."
The Hollywood star added: "Alcohol is poison."
Adam has become increasingly health conscious over the last decade, and he's proud to be in tip-top shape at this stage of his life.
The actor - who is perhaps best known for playing Ben Wayatt in Parks and Recreation, the hit sitcom, between 2010 and 2015 - said: "I haven’t been sick in two years."
Adam attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding in New York City in July, and he previously described it as a "really lovely event".
The Severance star and his wife Naomi Scott were in attendance at Madison Square Garden, and the biggest impression he took from the pair's big day was that they are "just people who love each other".
Speaking on the Today show, Adam said: "You know what, I think the thing we walked away with, the impression we had more than anything, was that it was a real wedding.
"You had the sense that these are just people who love each other.
"It was kind of on a grand scale - there were more people than were at my wedding - but at its core, it just felt like a regular wedding with two people coming together.
"Everyone teared up. It was a really lovely, lovely event."
Today co-host Craig Melvin asked Adam whether he had received some "serious dad points" from his 16-year-old daughter Frankie after he and Naomi were invited to the bash.
He replied: "Sure did, except I didn’t bring her. So I lost some points at the same time.
"But she stayed up and waited for us to come home that night to get all the details."
