Snooki has opened up about her hysterectomy recovery, admitting it’s been “awful”.
The Jersey Shore star underwent the operation - in which she had her uterus and cervix surgically removed - in July, after being diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer at the beginning of the year.
The mother-of-three has now opened up about the recovery process on her podcast It’s Happening with Snooki and Joey, and sighed: “I didn’t realise how f****** awful it was gonna be. Not to scare anybody that is going to do this. You have to.”
The podcast was recorded on “day 17” of Snooki’s recovery, as she added: “The last two days have been miserable. It hurts and I’m over it. I’m not comfortable, and it’s not an easy recovery.”
Snooki has been wearing a waist binder to keep everything “tightened” as she recovers, and said she’s been inundated with messages of support from other women in the same position - the so-called “hystersisters”.
The 38-year-old previously opened up about the operation itself, revealing the surgeon was able to leave her ovaries, meaning that Snooki won't start the menopause at this stage.
She added in a video on her Instagram page at the time: “I’m being very vulnerable here. But I feel like in this journey, I've been very vulnerable in general. So, I just want to keep it going.
“Because, you know, it's a scary thing. And a lot of us women deal with it. And no one really talks about it. “So, I'm here to give that platform for all of us ladies.”
The screen star added: “Now it's over, and I just have to deal with the pain.
“It's just like any surgery - you have pain and you’ve got to manage it.
“Get the pain meds. And, you know, in a couple days, you're going to feel brand spanking new.”
Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Snooki spoke about the upcoming finale of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, revealing that they actually filmed the scenes two years ago - and shot “alternate endings”.
She sighed: “It’s the end of an era.”
Snooki also paid tribute to her friend Hayden Panettiere on the podcast, after the Heroes star passed away aged 36.
She said: “Hayden has always been so sweet and such a nice friend. So iconic in the entertainment industry and such a beautiful person.”
While her podcast co-host Joey Camasta added that Hayden “always made everyone she spoke to so comfortable”.
