Josh Allen ready for 'different' NFL season as a father
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen - who welcomed his first child with actress Hailee Steinfeld earlier this year - is anticipating a "different" NFL campaign now that he is a father.
Josh Allen admits that the upcoming NFL season is "definitely gonna be different" now that he is a father.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback, 30, and his actress wife Hailee Steinfeld welcomed daughter Harper together in April and he is determined not to "miss anything" relating to his child's upbringing despite his sporting commitments.
In an interview with E! News, Allen said: "I can't tell you exactly how I'm going to feel right at this moment, but it's going to be obviously a lot of FaceTimes, a lot of calls. I don't want to miss anything."
The NFL star is grateful that he has a "supportive partner" in the form of Sinners star Steinfeld, whom he married last year.
Allen said: "To have a supportive partner, which I do, that allows me to go and work out (has been nothing but beneficial)."
The sports star admits that sleep can be challenging at times as he and his wife care for a little baby.
He joked: "Once that baby goes down, I know she's gonna be up early. So, I gotta get to sleep as soon as I can.
"To know that I'm gonna get a good night's rest and feel up fresh and rejuvenated, that's well worth it."
Allen revealed earlier this year that he is determined to win the Super Bowl so he can set a good example to his daughter.
The star - who has never won the biggest prize in the NFL - said: "That want to win will never change. The why I want to do it has. So why I want to do it is to show my family, to show my daughter how hard you need to work in order to accomplish something so great. And as long as I play this game, that’s going to be my mindset."
Meanwhile, Hailee explained how she was trying to be "super gentle" with herself after giving birth by eating warm foods.
The 29-year-old actress said: "My amazing doula has taught me so much about postpartum nutrition.
"In general, she advised me to stick to warm foods during my postpartum recovery to help digestion and boost nutrient absorption, a philosophy that stems from Ayurveda.
"Knowing this, my mom made me this amazing albondigas soup the other day. It's one of those rare soups that looks as good as it tastes."
