Brooklyn Beckham's lucrative pay for World Cup advert revealed

Brooklyn Beckham earned a reported $1 million for the World Cup advert in which he mocked his family feud.
The 27-year-old aspiring chef is estranged from his parents, Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham, who he condemned publicly in a scathing Instagram rant earlier this year, and he seemingly mocked the situation in a commercial filmed for food delivery service DoorDash - themed around the 2026 FIFA soccer World Cup tournament which is being held in the US - and it's now been reported Brooklyn earned a lucrative pay day for the stunt.
New York Post column PageSix reports Brooklyn was paid $1 million to film the advert, with a source saying: "It’s a little cheesy. [But] anything that makes him money is good - it shows that his brand is there and flourishing."
In the clip, which debuted on social media, Brooklyn is seen throwing a pile of World Cup tickets down and sniggering as he says: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home ... It's a long story."
The advert ends with the worlds: "It's complicated. More soon." Brooklyn's soccer tickets are seen lying on the floor next to a camera, a pile of unopened letters and a £250,000 watch - similar to one given to him by his father - which sits on a coffee table.
A full version of the advert was later released and it shows Brooklyn giving away his World Cup tickets to a delivery driver, saying: "These can go to someone else. Put them somewhere fun."
Viewers can then enter a competition to win tickets to the World Cup.
Brooklyn's famous parents have yet to publicly comment on the advert, but a source close to the Beckhams insisted the couple are saddened by their eldest son's decision to cash in on the family rift in an advert.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: "To do an ad based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and sister and grandparents are inconsolable …
"It just seems a tad hypocritical from someone claiming to want peace and privacy and the trying to cash in on it all.
"He says he wants nothing to do with his family, but is now trading off them by using one of his footballing father’s legacies – the World Cup – as an advertising selling point.
"Brooklyn is absolutely entitled to go and make his own money – his parents laud such ambition – but taking the mick out of a deep-rooted, heartbreaking family situation is not the one."
The advert was released shortly after Brooklyn's 14-year-old sister Harper was pictured arriving at his house in Los Angeles in an SUV on June 12 and handing over a letter after the family - including his wife Victoria and their two other sons, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21 - gathered at the Walk Of Fame ceremony to see David unveil his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Brooklyn wasn't at home at the time of the visit and he later accused his famous parents of staging the stunt.
Representatives for Brooklyn and his wife Nicola said in a statement: "[The fact] that photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all - this was choreographed for the cameras."
Beckham family insiders have slammed the "nasty accusation", telling the Daily Mail: "It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother.
"Nothing needed to be said at all so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary."
Brooklyn sent shockwaves around the world in January when he issued a strongly-worded statement on Instagram in which he insisted he did "not want to reconcile" with his parents and accused them of attempting to control the public narrative surrounding their family’s every movement.
Brooklyn said at the time in his lengthy statement: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private." He added: “Unfortunately my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."
Brooklyn continued: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life." He later alleged his mother behaved “in an inappropriate way” during his wedding celebrations with Nicola Peltz in 2022, further fuelling reports of tensions between Nicola and Victoria that had circulated since the ceremony in Florida.
