Brooklyn Beckham's in-laws sued over 'dog attack' for second time in two years
Claudia and Nelson Peltz - the parents of Brooklyn’s model wife Nicola Peltz Beckham - have been named in a lawsuit filed by a woman called Joy Ransom, who claims she was attacked by the pair’s rescue dog Houdini on December 23, 2025.
Brooklyn Beckham’s in-laws have been sued over an alleged dog attack for the second time in two years.
Claudia and Nelson Peltz - the parents of Brooklyn’s model wife Nicola Peltz Beckham - have been named in a lawsuit filed by a woman called Joy Ransom, who claims she was attacked by the pair’s rescue dog Houdini on December 23, 2025.
In the lawsuit, Ransom said she was working in the Peltz’s residence preparing Christmas gifts when the alleged attack happened, and claimed that the Peltz family knew Houdini had a history of being “prone to attack people”, but had not put him “under any form of restraint or control” - or arranged any “K-9 training or behaviour training” - because of that.
The legal paperwork goes on to state that Ransom was “not negligent in causing the incident”, and includes her allegations that she “incurred medical expenses” after the alleged attack.
It also states that Nicola was present when the alleged incident occurred.
Ransom is suing Claudia and Nelson for $50,000 in damages, claiming she suffered “bodily injury and resulting physical and mental pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, loss of earnings and impairment of earning capacity and/or permanent aggravation of a pre-existing condition, and further incurred hospital bills, medical bills, and/or other bills as a result of said injuries”.
She’s also demanding a jury trial, according to the lawsuit, which was filed on July 10 and obtained by People.
It’s the second time Claudia and Nelson have been sued following an alleged attack by Houdini.
In December 2024, another former employee claimed that Houdini was “lunging and attempting to attack” her, which led to her falling and injury herself.
Ransom cites the 2024 incident in her lawsuit, to back up her claims that Claudia and Nelson “failed to report Houdini’s dangerous propensities to the appropriate animal control authority and failed to obtain a certificate of registration for Houdini”.
Claudia and Nelson have yet to comment publicly about the lawsuit while Nicola - who calls herself a “dog activist” on her Instagram profile - hasn’t posted on her grid for the last two weeks.
