Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO's separation date revealed
Court documents have revealed when Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO separated after almost a decade of marriage.
Jelly Roll separated from Bunnie Xo just a week after she declared she had found her happily ever after.
The 41-year-old musician sparked shock on Monday (15.06.26) when it emerged he had filed for divorce on 18 May after a decade of marriage, and now court documents obtained by People magazine have shared further insight into their split.
The documents cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the divorce petition, and their separation date was listed as 9 May.
That date was just a week after Jelly and Bunnie had shared photos on social media of his 18-year-old daughter Bailee heading to her prom, with the podcaster referring to herself and the Save Me singer as "Maw + Paw of the Prom Queen".
On the same day, Bunnie shared a TikTok video of herself with Jelly and Bailee along with the text: "Never believed in ever after happily until y'all."
The Need a Favor singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, married Bunnie in August 2016 on the same night they got engaged, and they renewed their vows in 2023.
The split news comes after Bunnie recently opened up about the ups and downs of the couple's marriage, declaring it is important to love someone even when they are "at their lowest" because "everybody deserves a second chance".
Speaking to People earlier this year, the star - whose real name is Alisa DeFord - explained: "When you are with somebody for a long time, you are going to have to love them at their lowest. And I truly believe that true love is not about so much as accepting things that you shouldn’t, but I do think that everybody deserves a second chance.
"Loving somebody at their lowest is one of the most beautiful things you can do, especially if they bloom and they blossom like my husband has."
And back in February, Jelly - who also has nine-year-old son Noah from a previous relationship - made a moving speech at the 2026 Grammy Awards as he accepted the prize for Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, crediting his wife with saving his life.
He said: "I would have never change my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail. I’d have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus."
Jelly Roll has also changed his life over the last few years by embarking on a weight loss journey and he recently confessed he has "lost [his] way" but vowed to get back on track.
The singer - who weighed over 500lbs in 2023 but had slimmed down to 265lbs on the day he shot a Men's Health magazine cover last November - admitted he has been "avoiding the scale" over the last few months after deciding to "enjoy the holidays" and indulge in "big meals", as well as being less active due to an injury, so was scared to have a new weigh in ahead of returning to his diet.
Speaking in a YouTube video, Jelly said: "We hit the goal and it was right before the holidays, so I was like, 'You know what man, I’ve been working hard for the last three years losing this weight, I’m going to enjoy the holidays.'
"I had a big Thanksgiving meal, I had a big birthday meal, I ate a big Christmas meal. Kinda got off the rails and I broke my collarbone ... a few days before Christmas.
"I have, to some degree, lost my way. I am scared too, y'all. I feel really fat. I feel really bloated. I feel like this scale is going to let me down. I feel like I'm going to find out I've gained like 15lbs."
He then turned the camera to his feet to show a digital scale reading of 276.2lbs. He said: "That's our reality right there. So, we're up 12 lbs."
But now, the Son of a Sinner hitmaker has set his sights on running the New York Marathon and hopes to shed another 40-50lbs before the race on 1 November.
He said: “I’ve never ran a marathon or thought about running a marathon. This new coach I got has me doing intervals, right?
"So, run five minutes, walk five minutes, run five minutes, walk five minutes, and I'll do it for an amount of time instead of an amount of miles. That's been a really cool change of pace for me.
"Today was a walk 45 minutes day. I put on a weighted vest, which doesn't fit me. It's 2X. I'm not a 2X yet...Dude, that weighted vest was only 11 and 12 lbs and it kicked my a**."
