A$AP Rocky has blamed a reported shooting at his family home for taking away “a lot of peace and happiness”.

On 25th March, a woman called Ivanna Ortiz was charged with 14 felony counts - including attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper - after allegedly shooting at A$AP’s partner Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home with a semiautomatic AR-15 rifle on 8th March.

In an interview with VIBE magazine, the rapper opened up about how the incident had affected his family, as he called it “f***** up”.

He said: “Somebody attempted at (harming) me and my family.

"It took away a lot of peace and happiness of being able to just be free. I don't want to be robbed of my peace and joy."

A$AP and Rihanna share their home with their children RZA, four, Riot, two, and eight-month-old Rocki - and reports suggest the Umbrella star and her brood were at home at the time of the shooting.

If Ortiz is convicted of the 14 charges against her, she could be sentenced to life in state prison.

In a press release, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said: "Opening fire in any populated neighbourhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk and will be fully prosecuted.

"Thankfully, no one was injured in this shooting, but this careless violence will not be tolerated in our community. Such shooters will find their next destination to be our jails and prisons.”

Her attorney, Deputy Public Defender Jamarcus Bradford, initially entered a not guilty plea on her behalf at a court hearing but later withdrew it.

A source reportedly told Page Six that “the singer is taking extra security precautions and has even rescheduled an upcoming photo shoot because of the shooting”.

Another insider said Rihanna “doesn’t understand” why her family was targeted in the shooting.

The insider said: “Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened. Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen.”

"It was terrifying but Rihanna is thankful everyone is safe.”

According to the Daily Mail, days before the shooting, suspect Ortiz posted an abuse-filled message directed at Rihanna on Facebook on 23 February. Officers allege Ortiz fired the shots from a white Tesla before fleeing the scene.

A source close to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky told the New York Post the couple “don’t know much” about the attack and were left in the dark as to what happened. Rihanna purchased the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom in 2021. The property features an open-air courtyard and swimming pool and sits on a secluded cul-de-sac on a 21,958 sq ft lot originally built in the 1930s. Other neighbous on the typically quiet street include Mariah Carey, who has leased a property nearby for several years, and Madonna.
