Jamie Lee Curtis’ sister reportedly died of natural causes.

The actress, 67, revealed on Saturday (30.05.26) her older sibling Kelly Lee Curtis had passed away peacefully at the age of 69, with the star hailing her as her best friend and confidante.

Us Weekly has now reported Kelly died after being in hospice care for the week before her death, with Page Six adding it could “confirm” her death, at 2.30am on Saturday, was from natural causes.

Also according to Us Weekly, she is expected to be cremated.

Like Jamie, Kelly was also an actress, and landed roles in 1987’s Magic Sticks, as well as The Devil’s Daughter, released in 1991.

At the time of her death, she was married to filmmaker John Marsh.

The report about her cause of death comes after Jamie paid emotional tributes to her late sister.

The actress recently took to Instagram to share a series of previously unseen black-and-white photographs of the pair together, including images taken around the time of Jamie’s wedding in 1984.

Jamie captioned a series of intimate family photographs of her and Kelly in the form of a contact sheet of snaps: “In 1984 on December 17, in the evening before my wedding, my sister, Kelly, who was my maid of honour, came to my apartment and slept over.

“Our friend, Suzanne Tenner. @suz_tenner came and made a portrait of the sisters before I got married. She sent me this contact sheet today in condolence for the loss of my beautiful sister.

“My sister and I were close as children but also had that sibling competition for divorced parent's attention and love and we were wildly different and lived apart for many years, but she came back to be with me at my wedding and never really left again.

“She worked for me at one point when she was in between jobs as my as-sister-aunt and became an integral part of my family structure.

“I miss her today but am buoyed by the knowledge that she is at peace.”

Jamie, whose career spans films including Halloween, A Fish Called Wanda, True Lies, Freaky Friday and the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once, was referring in her post to her wedding to her husband Christopher Guest, now 78.

Jamie announced Kelly’s death in a separate social media post by sharing a black-and-white image of her sister and captioning the image: “A warm aloha to my older sister, Kelly Lee Curtis.”

The A-lister added Kelly had died “this morning. In her home. In nature. At peace.”

Remembering her sister’s character and talents, she said: “She was my first friend and lifelong confidant.”

Jamie continued her sibling was “jaw droppingly beautiful, and a talented actress”.

Messages of support quickly arrived from friends and fellow performers after Jamie’s latest tribute to her sibling.

Actress Jennifer Garner responded to the photographs by writing: “Beautiful (red heart emoji.)”

Her fellow Hollywood star Rita Wilson commented: “The picture in the second column and second down is so tender and beautiful.”

The loss comes during a busy period for Jamie, who is preparing for the release of the highly anticipated Freakier Friday movie – the sequel reuniting her with Lindsay Lohan more than two decades after the pair appeared in the original Freaky Friday film, which became a global hit.
