Tom Hardy 'axed from MobLand' after 'clashes with producers'
Tom Hardy will reportedly not appear in the anticipated third series of MobLand after alleged "clashes with producers" whilst filming season two of the Paramount+ crime drama.
Tom Hardy has reportedly been axed from MobLand.
The 48-year-old actor will not appear in the proposed third series following "clashes with producers" whilst creating the second season of the Paramount+ crime drama, in which he plays fixer Harry Da Souza, it is claimed.
Matthew Belloni, the former editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter, wrote in his Puck newsletter: “I’m told Paramount recently opted not to pick up Hardy for season three after his clashes with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser, among others, during the recent production of season two."
The entertainment journalist, 52, also claimed: "Hardy was apparently late to set a bunch, constantly asked to give notes on scripts, attempted to change dialogue, and expressed his displeasure that a series initially built around him was increasingly becoming an ensemble showcase for Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and other co-stars."
Tom's MobLand character, Harry, works for the Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Pierce) and Maeve (Dame Helen).
In April, the Daily Mail reported that Tom may be taking a career "sabbatical" that could last years now that season two of MobLand has wrapped.
It comes after the heartthrob admitted he is seeing the impact physical roles are having on his body.
In May 2025, Tom told Esquire: "I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back, I’ve got sciatica as well.
"And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It’s like, it’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better."
The reported "clashes with producers" of MobLand comes 11 years after Tom and Charlize Theron locked horns, with her reportedly calling the "aggressive" actor a "f****** ****" as he made her wait on set for hours, while filming Mad Max: Fury Road.
New York Times columnist Kyle Buchanan also claimed in his book that Charlize, 50, had a producer with her at "all times" for "protection" against Tom because she was "scared s*******" of him.
In 2022, Tom addressed the claims, telling Kyle: "In hindsight, I was in over my head in many ways. The pressure on both of us was overwhelming at times.
"What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced partner in me. That’s something that can’t be faked. I’d like to think that now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion."
