Simon Cowell’s boy band December 10 spill on BBQs at his mansion — and the secret chef who does the grilling
Simon Cowell’s latest protégés say their mentor is so hands‑on he even hosts barbecues at his house - but leaves the cooking to his private chef.
Simon Cowell’s new boy band December 10 have lifted the lid on what it’s really like being mentored by the music mogul - and it turns out their catch‑ups now happen over burgers at his place.
The much-hyped boy band - comprising Nicolas Alves, Danny Bretherton, Josh Olliver, Hendrik Christoffersen, Sean Hayden, John Fadare and Cruz Lee-Ojo - was founded by the music mogul on the Netflix series Simon Cowell: The Next Act.
The group have already notched up some impressive early milestones, pulling in over 16 million streams, 8.4 million YouTube views, and amassing a social following topping 3.2 million. They’ve also secured 50,000 mailing‑list sign‑ups, marking the fastest fanbase growth ever recorded within Universal Music Group.
Their debut single Run My Way cemented December 10 as far more than a standard boy band launch. The track blasted into the Top 10 of the Official UK best‑selling vinyl singles of 2026, signalling a breakout moment that put the industry firmly on alert.
Opening up about the surreal experience so far, the lads revealed they’re in constant contact with Simon, who recently invited them round to his home for a laid‑back barbecue where business talk mixed with downtime.
But anyone picturing Cowell in an apron flipping sausages can think again.
In an interview with ContactMusic.com, Danny shut down the idea of Simon manning the grill.
Danny laughed: “Nah!”
Sean quickly added the truth: “We had chef Jeff to do that!”
Between bites, the group say they’ve been soaking up every bit of wisdom they can from the man behind some of the biggest pop careers of the last two decades.
Nicholas explained: “Simon’s had so many years in this industry and he has so much experience, so every opportunity we get to spend time with him he’s always imparting his wisdom upon us. We’re really lucky to have him by our side.”
December 10 - who have just dropped their latest single Infinity (123) - will be hitting the stage at Wembley Stadium for Capital's Summertime Ball on June 6.
And they’re also keeping their fingers crossed for a run‑in with Niall Horan — another boy band alum shaped by Simon Cowell’s empire.
Josh said: "That would be insane because Niall has had a similar journey to us, so it would be so fun to listen to all his stories."
Sean chimed in: "I want to meet RAYE. She is really talented."
Nicholas added: "I want to meet Jason Derulo, his TikToks always come up on my for you page."
