Oasis are set to announce a huge string of shows for next year, including a 12-night residency in their home city of Manchester.

The Wonderwall hitmakers delighted fans when they reunited last year for their first tour in over 15 years and despite speculation they would then announce more live shows for this year, nothing materialised but they are now preparing to get back on stage in 2027.

At the heart of the tour will be 12 dates at the Etihad Stadium, home of brothers and bandmates Noel and Liam Gallagher's beloved Manchester City, and they will also return to Knebworth - the site of their two huge concerts in 1996 - for a record-breaking six shows.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: “Oasis’ schedule is booked.

“It’s 12 nights at the Etihad over six weeks starting in June.

“They will then play Knebworth six times over a three-week period in September.

“Dates could be added but for now that’s the master plan.”

An official announcement is expected to be made next month.

A source said: “Noel and Liam always planned for the tour to have a second run.

“There were discussions about announcing [it] during the World Cup because of the connection between Wonderwall and the Three Lions in this tournament.

“But they’ve settled on August.

“It’ll give the country something to shout about — whether we’re celebrating or commiserating.”

Six nights at Knebworth would set a new record for the number of shows an artist has played at the outdoor venue.

An insider said: "Knebworth is a special place for Noel and Liam.

“The shows in 1996 broke records as 2.6million people applied for tickets.

“It was the largest demand for tickets in British music history.

“They broke that with Oasis Live ’25.

“Now they’re going to become the only act to have played Knebworth six times.”

Meanwhile, Liam - who previously played two solo shows at Knebworth back in 2022 - has seemingly confirmed live shows are on the way for 2027.

When one fan mused on X, "i wonder if the poznan during cigarettes and alcohol will carry on in 2027 or if there'll be a new gig thing we'll be doing (sic)", Liam replied: "Oh it will."

However, he refused to be drawn on any specifics.

Asked about reports of gigs at Ireland's Slane Castle, he simply replied: "Good question."

And asked about various Scottish venues, he remained equally cryptic, telling one fan: "Stop trying to cause theatre."

The Champagne Supernova singer told another user they would be playing at the Etihad Stadium for "a whole year."
