Cara Delevingne reveals fears of being 'submissive' in a relationship
Cara Delevingne is trying to learn how to be "submissive" in her relationship without losing the "fiery, dominant" side.
Cara Delevingne was "scared to be submissive" in her relationships.
The 33-year-old star was chosen by pop star Rosalia's on stage confessional during her gig at The O2 in London on Wednesday (06.05.26), and she opened up about her four-year romance with girlfriend Minke, 34.
She told the crowd: "Now I am in a committed relationship. I used to always love being the dominant one, I liked to take control.
"I think it was because I was scared of being seen, I was scared to be submissive because I didn't want to receive love. But now I think I'm ready...
"I just want to know that even if I am submissive, I don't want to lose that part of myself that can be that fiery, dominant Leo that I am."
When Rosalia asked why she has to be "one or the other", Cara agreed that "you don't".
She added: "I just want to make sure that's the case, and I feel like you know."
At the beginning of the segment, Cara - who came out as pansexual in 2020 - was asked for her confessional.
She teased: "I have been naughty, I was born that way...
"If you didn't know this already, I'm a lesbian. My weakness used to be straight women, because they weren't really straight."
The singer asked her why, and Cara admitted it was "the challenge".
She added "But also I genuinely don't think anyone is ever fully straight.
"Also I don't think men knew how to pleasure their girlfriends well enough, so I do that."
Cara and Minke first met as students, but started dating in 2022 after reuniting at an Alanis Morissette concert.
Cara previously heaped praise on her partner's impact, particularly on being "comfortable" with herself and her sobriety.
She told Elle UK: "My girlfriend has been really wonderful in introducing me to a lot of things and people.
"Being with my girlfriend, in this relationship, there are just so many things that came at once that have made me so happy and comfortable with who I am."
Also in 2024, Favorite Part singer Minke spoke of how "proud" she is of the model and actress.
She told Diva magazine: “Most of the time it’s just us at home with our cats.
“Obviously dating someone who is so talented and has so much to share, you do share her with the world. That’s something I knew going in. I’m so proud of her.
“I’m naturally a private person and I think we’re really happy with the balance we strike now with sharing things online but keep our lives as low key and normal as it is.”
