Pop megastar Taylor Swift has praised her pal Dakota Johnson as "one of the most empathetic people" she has "ever known", and gushed over her "realness", after the Fifty Shades of Grey star was named as one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2026.
Taylor Swift has praised Dakota Johnson as "one of the most empathetic people" she has "ever known" after the actress was named as one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2026.
The Love Story hitmaker wrote a piece about the Fifty Shades of Grey star for the publication to mark her inclusion into the prestigious and coveted list, and she gushed over Dakota's "realness" and "unfailing truthfulness".
Taylor wrote in Time: "As her friend, I can vouch for her realness, but add that she’s also one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever known. And maybe it’s true that she can’t lie.
"But I’ll tell you a few more things she can’t do. She can’t stop asking people questions about their lives, endlessly curious about everyone else’s human experience.
"She can’t stop challenging herself, taking newer and
bolder risks like building her production company TeaTime Pictures.
"She can’t stop exploring the most intricate relationship complexities like in last year’s Splitsville and Materialists.
"Captivating in front of the screen and inquisitive behind it, her unfailing truthfulness helps to shape her ever evolving storytelling into art that feels as real and timeless as she is."
Taylor also insisted Dakota's name has become "synonymous with refreshing honesty in a world of media-trained answers".
She added: "Maybe it’s her sing-song vocal delivery, serenely answering questions with such frank candor it makes you feel like maybe this girl just ... can’t lie?!"
Entertainers who featured on this year's Time 100 included actors Ben Stiller, Benicio Del Toro, Zoe Saldana, Ethan Hawke, Ranbir Kapoor, Claire Danes, Sterling K. Brown, and Keke Palmer.
What's more, entertainers Kate Hudson, Alan Cumming, and Wagner Moura also feature, as do Noah Wyle, Anderson .Paak, Jonathan Groff, Rhea Seehorn, Jafar Panahi, and Nikki Glaser.
Several musicians have also been named, including Luke Combs, Jennie, Hilary Duff, Coco Jones, Rauw Alejandro, and Noah Kahan.

He featured in the Leaders section, alongside the likes of Pope Leo XIV, and Xi Jinping, the President of the People's Republic of China.
