Phoebe Dynevor reveals if she would return to Bridgerton - but there's a huge stumbling block
Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor has not been asked to return to the Netflix show, but she would "always come back" if she was able to make it work.
Phoebe Dynevor has not been asked back to Bridgerton.
The 30-year-old actress shot to global fame in the first series of the Netflix show, alongside Regé-Jean Page, but her character Daphne Bridgerton hasn't been seen on the program since a brief comeback in season two.
Despite that, Phoebe would love to reprise her role if Bridgerton bosses get in touch with her.
Speaking on YouTube show Collider Ladies Night, she said: "I just want to say I have not received a call, and when I get that call, I will be there if I can.
"When the first season came out they didn't know what they needed to put in place.
"So we were like the ones that got away I think, in a certain way.
"But like we would - I can only speak for myself - I would always come back if I was asked."
Phoebe is grateful to Bridgerton for giving her lots of "opportunities" to portray other characters.
She added: "Suddenly I realized that I had these opportunities to play lots of different women, and it's all I'd ever wanted in my career."
The first season of Bridgerton followed the romance between Daphne and Page's character, The Duke of Hastings.
However, Page departed the role, and Dynevor has since admitted that put a "spanner" in the works.
Speaking to Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast in 2021 about Page's departure, she said: "I had a bit of a heads up so I knew but yeah, I guess it is a spanner.
"But again, the show centers around the Bridgertons and there are eight books.
"I think maybe the fans of the books were more aware of that happening than the fans of the show.
"I think fans of the books know that every episode is about a different sibling.
"And we’re very much passing the baton to the lovely Johnny, who plays Anthony.
"Obviously it’s sad to see [Page] go but I’m looking forward to being reunited with my with my family."
The Shonda Rhimes-created Netflix show is based on Julia Quinn's Bridgerton novel series.
