Leighton Meester has found 'a nice balance' in her life
Leighton Meester has revealed how she's found balance in her life.
Leighton Meester craves "balance" in her life.
The 39-year-old actress has opened up about her approach to juggling her personal and professional life.
Speaking to People at the fragrance launch event in New York City, Leighton explained: "I wish I could say it was just calm and relaxed at all times and just peaceful, but I think that I do appreciate the moments of calm and peace because life just keeps going.
"But I feel like there's a nice balance for me with creativity and my work life, which is fortunately my creative life as well. I'm very, very lucky in that way, that I really like what I do."
Meanwhile, Leighton recently opened up about her "journey of self-love".
The actress explained how she's learned to cope with her critics over the years.
Leighton told People: "Certainly speaking positively of others too, but [it's important] that I really include myself in that, because there are plenty of not-so-nice feelings that you can absorb out from the world. But I really do have to enjoy continuing the journey of self-love and telling myself and believing that I'm worthy of it, just because I exist."
Despite this, Leighton acknowledged that her journey of self-love hasn't always been easy.
The actress admitted that she used to feel embarrassed by her approach, because she thought some people might mock her.
Leighton - who got engaged to Adam Brody in November 2013 - shared: "There was a long time where I was like, this is kind of embarrassing to say and feel, and really put weight onto."
Leighton - who has two children with Adam - insists her family remains her biggest priority.
She said: "All of my emotional bandwidth is devoted to that and that's what gives me the most fulfilment. Allotting time just for me and then just for my family is vital, and it's the only way to actually really give my all to every part of my life."
