Nikki Glaser has explained why she's nervous about meeting Taylor Swift.
Nikki Glaser fears embarrassing herself in front of Taylor Swift.
The 41-year-old comedian has admitted that she struggles to keep her composure around the pop star, and Nikki has now revealed that she was relieved not to come face-to-face with Taylor, 36, at the recent iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Speaking to Variety at the ceremony, Nikki explained: "I find myself when I do meet people I really admire, I do act a fool and I can't control myself — my teeth chatter and stuff. I don't need her to deal with that. That's too much for her."
The self-confessed Swiftie — who has met Taylor once before — admitted that she'd turned down the chance to prepare what she would say to the singer.
She said: "My assistant on the way here was like, 'Do you want to practice like what you would say to her?' And I was like, 'No, because I don't want it to be rehearsed and I want it to come from the heart.'"
Instead, Nikki was happy to admire Taylor from a safe distance.
The comedy star - who has hosted the Golden Globe Awards for the last two years - said: "I love seeing her from afar and being like, 'Oh my God, I'm breathing in the same air as her.'"
Meanwhile, Nikki has also revealed that she has turned down a spot on the dais for Netflix's upcoming Kevin Hart roast, hosted by Shane Gillis.
The comedian — who previously roasted Kevin at both the Golden Globes and the Tom Brady roast — admitted that her decision was partly down to a lack of fresh material.
She said: "I do not have the time right now in my schedule to commit to giving it what I want to give it. I'm coming up short with short jokes, if you know what I'm saying."
