Anne-Marie: 'I'm still figuring out how to be a good mum and write the best album'
Anne-Marie revealed her "emotional" struggles in a lengthy post to X on Tuesday (10.03.26).
Anne-Marie is finding juggling motherhood and her music career "intense".
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter has been absent from social media since the start of this year, and now she has admitted having a reluctance to post about her life because she "feels like a wreck most of the time".
Anne-Marie - who has daughter, Seven, 23 months, and son, Forever Sugar, 10 months, with her 31-year-old husband, rapper Slowthai - opened up about her "emotional" struggles in a lengthy upload to X on Tuesday (10.03.26).
She penned: "Feeling emotional today. Sorry I been distant. Not sure if you care but I do. I’m working really hard to get this right."
The Alarm hitmaker then admitted she is "Still figuring out how to be a good mum AND write the best album you’ve heard from me".
Anne-Marie added: "It’s intense.
"I want to post, but I look and feel like a wreck most of the time. I know you don’t care about that though hahah.
"I miss you all so much and hope you are feeling as happy as you can be. A cuddle is needed (sic)."
Her supporters rushed to the post's comments section to tell the star how much they care.
One user typed: "We all care about you so much. You prioritise yourself, your health and your family. Your other family will be waiting for you when you are ready (sic)."
A second person wrote: "Anne marie you never ever need to apologise for being distant.
"You’re balancing being a mum, being human, and creating something beautiful for all of us that’s a lot for anyone.
"The fact that you even worry about us during all of that just shows what a genuine, caring person (sic)."
And a third supporter left: "Sending my love sweetie. Remember to take time for yourself + breathe. It’ll all work out ok.
"Stop being so hard on yourself. Ur doing amazing as a mama + your fans will always be here patiently waiting for you to work your magic on your music that we will love. Love yourself (sic)."
Since the release of Unhealthy in July 2023, Anne-Marie and Slowthai - real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton - welcomed Seven and Forever Sugar into the world.
And in December 2025, the star revealed she turned to her 35-year-old pal, singer Ed Sheeran, for advice on how to juggle her music career with being a mom.
This is because Ed has successfully balanced being a dad to his and 33-year-old wife, consultant Cherry Seaborn's daughters, Lyra, five, and Jupiter, three, with growing his illustrious music career.
Anne-Marie explained to The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Be a parent, it’s hard. It’s like everyone says. It’s the best thing ever and the hardest thing at the same time.
"I think working is definitely hard. I find it harder than I thought I would, but they are beautiful little aliens. It does make you want more, even though you are in hell.
"I go to Ed for a lot of advice, really about kids, but also about everything, really. Now that we have kids, he is like the perfect person to speak to."
This year, Anne-Marie is releasing new music, and she has vowed it will be nothing like the material from her first three albums - 2018's Speak Your Mind, 2021's Therapy (2021), and 2023's Unhealthy.
The Grammy-nominated artist said: "Next year there will be new music. I think I need to switch it up a bit… Will I be rapping? Who knows. I am definitely switching it up.
"I need to make it exciting again, you know. I can’t just come back as the same Anne Marie I have been for 10 years. I am going to do a little spice.”
