Rob Gronkowski tips Travis Kelce to retire from NFL
Travis Kelce has been tipped to retire by former NFL star Rob Gronkowski.
Rob Gronkowski thinks Travis Kelce will retire at the end of the NFL season.
The 36-year-old sports star - who is engaged to Taylor Swift - is rumored to be contemplating retirement after an underwhelming season with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Rob, a legendary former player, believes Travis is likely to announce his retirement in the coming weeks or months.
Rob, 36, said on Up and Adams: "My gut tells me about Travis Kelce is that he will not be back next year.
"He has had a significant career ... He has had an excellent year once again this year. He is a top tight end in the NFL. I'm not sure exactly what his stats are, but I know he's producing.
"And if any team can get the type of production that he's having this year, I mean, I'm talking like 25 other teams would take him in a heartbeat."
Despite this, Rob suggested that age is now catching up with Travis.
The former NFL star said: "He's getting first downs, he's moving the chains.
"But we're just so used to Travis Kelce playing at such a high level that he has been doing his whole entire career that know Father Time has gotten to him a little bit."
Earlier this year, Travis insisted that he still has "a lot more to prove" in the NFL.
The sports star briefly contemplated retirement after losing the 2025 Super Bowl, but Travis still felt motivated and ambitious.
He told reporters: "It wasn't a very tough [decision] for me.
"I know I'm getting older, but at the same time I still feel like I got a lot that I can prove in this league. It really wasn't that hard of a decision for me."
Travis felt hurt after losing the Super Bowl earlier this year, but his passion for the sport remained as strong as ever.
He said: "I love football. I don't think I really thought about it that much. My friends and family and the team and the guys and women in this building, I love coming into work every single day."
