Rob Reiner's home was full of "love" just weeks before he was killed along with his wife Michele, according to a movie industry pal.

Cinematographer Barry Markowitz - who has been close friends with the couple for many years - has revealed he was invited to stay at their home in Los Angeles last month while has in town for the premiere of his new film The Perfect Gamble on November 14 and he's opened up about spending time with Rob and Michele as well as their son Nick, 32, who is currently behind bars after being charged with two counts of murder in relation to the death of his parents last weekend (12-14.12.25).

Markowitz told New York Post column PageSix: "I may have been one of the last people to see them ...

"[Rob and Michele's daughter] Romy was in and out [of the house] and at dinner time she comes over and we all bulls*** together. [We would] scream at the TV, we watched a movie and a basketball game. Played with the dogs. Family time. One big love fest."

Markowitz went on to reveal Nick - who has battled drug addiction in the past - helped his parents out around the house and they would all have dinner together.

"He looked great. He was sitting and talking with the family. They eat dinner together, old school, and a lot of love, always a lot of love ...

"He helped out, he took out the garbage, he watched TV, he washed dishes. He’d bring me something to drink. He was just normal in that sense."

Markowitz went on to insist Nick's arrest on suspicion of the murders is "puzzling".

He said: "I think what’s puzzling the most, the 360, is that there was so much love, that it doesn’t jive. I’m not here to judge anyone. L. O. V. E. is the only thing I saw, and I don’t think it was fake. They had a real bond."

Nick has been accused of killing his parents with a knife in the early hours of Sunday morning (14.12.25). He's being held without bail and an arraignment hearing has yet to be scheduled.
