Kristin Davis was set up on a date with Matthew Perry
Sex and the City star Kristin Davis has recalled being set up on a date with Friends actor Matthew Perry in the late 1990s.

Kristin Davis was once set up on a date with Matthew Perry.
The Sex and the City actress has recalled how a mutual attorney friend she shared with the star - who tragically died aged 54 in 2023 - arrange for them to go on a blind date.
Speaking on iHeartRadio's Are You A Charlotte? podcast, she said: “He’s not my lawyer, but he’s a nice lawyer, and I’ve been set up with Matthew Perry.
"And this is like ’98, ’99, ’97 maybe. I feel like it was between Melrose Place, which I did before [Sex and the] City, and it was at a house. It was a dinner party. It was so low-key."
The party was filled with "a bunch of Hollywood people", but she can't remember any of the other guests.
She added: "I don't even know who was there other than this lawyer and Matthew."
Kristin enjoyed her time chatting to the Friends star, as he opened up about his experiences on the sitcom.
She recalled: “Matthew’s lovely. He sits next to me. And he’s talking about how thrilled he is, how happy they are on the set at Friends, and he was doing a film with Salma Hayek.
"I was like, ‘Wow, he’s so happy.’”
Although they didn't pursue anything romantic, the couple's conversation gave her pause for thought about her own career.
She explained: "I had been around Melrose and it wasn’t the happiest place in a way.
"There were 15 series regulars. Everyone had the feeling they might get cut, so it was that competitive and stressy."
Things could have been very different, as Kristin previously revealed she actually auditioned for the role of Monica - who became the wife of Matthew's character Chandler Bing - but missed out.
She said: "I think I was one of, like, 8,000 young ladies who read for Monica and Courteney Cox got her."
Kristin and Courteney were actually "in the same yoga class at the time" and they used to socialise together too, while she can still remember Courteney's reaction to landing the role.
She revealed: "One day, Courteney was like, 'Hey, guys. Do you want to come car shopping with me?' We were like, 'Wow, car shopping!'
"[Courteney] said, 'I did this pilot, I’m feeling really good about it. I think I’m going to buy a Porsche.'
"We were like, 'Wow, is she for real?' It was 'Friends', and it did go very well."
