Priyanka Chopra Jonas' daughter has a "funny" way of pronouncing her famous dad's surname.

The Heads of State actress - who has three-year-old daughter Malti Marie with Nick Jonas - has revealed her toddler's struggles with trying to say her father's last name properly.

Speaking to Extra, she laughed: "I think she’s trying to say ‘Jonas,’ but it just comes out as ‘donut,’ and now she knows that we think it’s funny so she says it over and over again.”

Priyanka and the Jonas Brothers singer have both been kept busy lately, as she's been promoting new movie Heads of State while he's been performing on Broadway in The Last Five Years.

The couple have been working hard to balance their work life and family, while fully supporting each other in their endeavours.

Priyanka added: "It’s the best.

"There’s a sense of safety and I would wish that upon everyone to be able to find someone where you feel like there is unconditional support in all your choices. I mean, that’s the dream. I’m really grateful for it.”

The 42-year-old actress described Malti Marie as "such a girly girl" and a huge fan of princesses, in particular the titular character from the 2016 movie Moana and its 2024 sequel, and she even introduces herself with an extra moniker in tribute to her idol.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Priyanka said: "She introduces herself as Malti Marie Moana Chopra Jonas. She insists she's Moana.

"She insists it's her name, like officially her name in school. She says, 'I'm Malti Marie Moana.' "

And her daughter loves to play dress up in Priyanka's closet.

She said: "She loves coming into my closet, wearing my shoes, seeing my dresses.

"She was with us when we were getting dressed for the Met Gala, and she put on my gloves and my hat and she said, 'Mama and Gaga are going to a ball, just like Cinderella.' "
