Pop star Meghan Trainor has explained how she copes with panic disorder.
Meghan Trainor listens to Kim Petras' music when she's having a bad mental health day.
The 31-year-old pop star has been open about her struggles with panic disorder, which she's treated with antidepressants and therapy - but Meghan also turns to Kim's tunes to help her to navigate difficult times in her life.
Asked which artist she listens to amid her struggles, Meghan told PEOPLE: "Kim Petras! That's the only thing. I'm like, 'This is it. This is going to get me going'."
Meghan also manages her mental health through regular exercise routines.
The 'All About That Bass' hitmaker said: "It really helps my mental health when I'm working out and exercising and taking care of me.
"I work on getting more sleep. I notice if I don't get sleep, I'm angry. You know when you get hangry? I get sleep angry. Slangry."
What's more, Meghan credited Daryl Sabara, her husband, for helping her to navigate the hard times.
The pop star - who has Riley, three, and Barry, 18 months, with Daryl - shared: "He is my rock. We just communicate so well. He is my therapist and my best friend and my everything."
Meanwhile, Meghan recently claimed that parenthood has given her career a "reboot".
The singer explained that her kids have inspired her to be the "best version" of herself.
Meghan - who has been married to Daryl since 2018 - told PEOPLE: "When I became a mom, my career had a whole new life.
"I had a whole reboot, and it’s because my kids made me want to be the best version of me."
Meghan also suggested that there's much more still to come from her as an artist.
The Grammy-winning star said: "I’m not peaking. I’ve just begun."
