Andrew Garfield is a huge fan of "genius" Chappell Roan and says she will inspire future generations by setting boundaries when it comes to the way her fans interact with her in public.
Andrew Garfield has praised Chappell Roan for "setting boundaries with the world".
The 41-year-old actor is a huge fan of the 26-year-old pop star's album 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess', admitting he listens to the whole record "every morning in the gym", and he's joined the list of stars praising Chappell for calling out the inappropriate behaviour of some of her overzealous fans.
He told MTV UK of the record: “I’ve been talking about it for the last 48 hours.
“‘Red Wine Supernova’ is killing me. ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ You know, ‘Pink Pony Club,’ obviously. ‘HOT TO GO!’ obviously.”
He continued: “Honestly, that whole album I’m just listening front to back every morning in the gym.
It’s a genius album. Nothing’s come along like this in so long.”
The 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' star added: “The way she’s like setting boundaries with the world, it’s gonna be really inspiring for people."
In a joint interview, he told his 'We Live in Time' co-star Florence Pugh: “Wow, we went deep on Chappell Roan.”
Chappell - whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz - has endured a meteoric rise to fame over the course of the last year, and she has been open about feeling "unsafe" in encounters she's had with some fans.
She wrote on Instagram: "I want to love my life, be outside, giggle with my friends, go to the movie theater, feel safe, and do all the things every single person deserves to do.
"Please stop touching me. Please stop being weird to my family and friends. Please stop assuming things about me. There is always more to the story. l am scared and tired.
"And please—don't call me Kayleigh. I feel more love than I ever have in my life. I feel the most unsafe I have ever felt in my life.
"There is a part of myself that I save just for my project and all of you. There is a part of myself that is just for me, and I don’t want that taken away from me. "
