Kiernan Shipka woke up with a "massive hump on her nose" after a "big Christmas mishap".

The 24-year-old actress - who stars with J.K. Simmons and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in new festive movie 'Red One' - has recalled a heavy night with friends which resulted in a mysterious injury.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "I drank so much with my friends one night, and I woke up the next day and I had — I tell you — a massive hump on my nose.

"My nose literally went out a little and then back in.”

Even now, the 'Twisters' star doesn't actually know how the injury actually happened, but "it lasted a couple of weeks".

She said: "I don't know if I fell. Unclear how it happened. It lasted a couple of weeks. It was a big Christmas mishap.”

She quipped: "You know, we live, we learn, we have fun.”

As well as 'Twisters' and upcoming movie 'Red One', her other critics include the likes of 'Longlegs', 'Mad Men', Riverdale' and 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'.

Earlier this year, Kiernan made an emotional tribute to late 'Sabrina' co-star Chance Pernamo after he died in a motorcycle accident on March 29 aged just 27.

She wrote on Instagram at the time: "Oh man this hurts.

"He was a one of a kind soul. Just the most fiery, creative, loving, connected, and caring force you could possibly imagine…

"As playful as he was kind. As loving as he was hilarious. He never failed to make me laugh and he never failed to keep me on my toes (or off of them if he was giving me a piggyback ride to my trailer which he often did. Thanks Chance.)

"His humanity was a generous gift to me and to so many people. Really hard to picture this world without him in it.

"I loved him with my whole heart. I always will."
