Paris Hilton thought the fire that broke out on the set of her music video was a "prank".

The 43-year-old star revealed last month that some of her belongings "melted and burned to a crisp" in the blaze on the set of her 'Bad B**** Academy' video, and she admitted at first she wondered if people were playing a cruel joke on her.

She told E! News: "Literally, it was like an explosion in there, everything was gone.

"I was in shock and thought people were trying to prank me when they came and told me that everything was gone.

"But I'm just grateful no one was in the trailer, because that was scary! But the show must go on, and I powered through."

Last month, the singer, socialite and reality star shared a video showing her damaged jewellery and reflected on the "amazing memories" she has from each item.

She wrote on Instagram: "These items are what’s left from the fire that broke out in my trailer on my #BadB****Academy music video shoot [broken heart emoji].

"Everything else was literally melted and burned to a crisp [crying emoji]. So many amazing memories with each of these pieces, all tying back to this incredible journey to produce the best music video we possibly can make for you all!

"So unbelievably grateful that no one was injured during this event [prayer and heart emoji] While I am heartbroken and still processing it all, this will not stop me and my team [stars emoji] (sic)"

Meanwhile, Paris previously reassured fans that she was "safe" after the fire broke out.

The former 'Simple Life' star shared a picture of her burnt trailer on her Instagram Story, and the blonde beauty admitted that she was "incredibly grateful" for her team.

Paris - who married author Carter Reum in 2021 - wrote on the photo-sharing platform at the time: "Sadly an accidental fire broke out in my trailer on the set of my music video today.

"As heartbreaking as it is, l'm so thankful everyone is safe and I'm incredibly grateful for the amazing support I have around me."
