Carrie Fisher lost her virginity to her friend Griffin Dunne - even though she had a boyfriend at the time.

The 'This Is Us' actor recalled how he agreed to "do a favour" for his late pal by having the "honour" of deflowering her because she didn't want her partner to realise how inexperienced she was.

Griffin told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: “I was doing her a favour. She had a boyfriend and she didn’t want him to know she was a virgin and she trusted me and gave me the honour.”

But despite the clinical nature of the arrangement, the 68-year-old actor insisted they were both "into it".

He said: “We were into it. We had a few practice sessions.

“Look at her, she was gorgeous! I couldn’t have been luckier.

"[I was] hardly Casanova, but I was a tad more experienced.”

The 'Girls on the Bus' actor stayed in contact with the 'Star Wars' legend until she died in 2016 at the age of 60.

He said: “We had a core group of friends."

The friendship circle still have a group chat where they regularly share "a memory" of their late pal.

Griffin said it contained: "An irreverent filthy story or the funniest, most unpublishable things you can imagine.”

Before he became an actor, Griffin was keen to be a writer or a journalist, but he got expelled from high school after being found smoking marijuana.

He explained: "I was in Colorado in a boarding school and I got caught smoking pot."

And the 'After Hours' actor noted he was unlucky the incident didn't happen a few years later.

He added: “Colorado, by the way, was the first state to legalise pot, so my timing was a little off.”
