Hollyoaks and Emmerdale's Adam Woodward becomes a first-time dad
Hollyoaks and Emmerdale alum Adam Woodward and his partner Olivia Weedall welcomed their first child into the world on August 5.
Hollyoaks alum Adam Woodward has become a dad for the first time.
The 34-year-old actor - who played Brody Hudson in the Channel 4 soap from 2017 until 2021 - and his partner Olivia Weedall welcomed baby boy Matthew into the world on August 5.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (11.08.26), Adam posted adorable shots of their newborn, as well as one of himself carrying his son out of hospital, with the caption: "Welcome to the [world] Matthew Rayn Woodward. 05.08.2026.
"We love you more than you could ever know."
His former Hollyoaks co-stars and fans flooded the post's comments section with congratulatory messages.
Anthony Quinlan (Gilly Roach) penned: "Congratulations to you both mate. He’s a little belter!"
Nikki Sanderson (Maxine Minniver) typed: "Congratulations to you both. He’s a little cutie x (sic)."
Susie Amy (Scarlett Morgan) wrote: "Beautiful news congratulations!!!!! (sic)"
One fan gushed: "Thrilled for you both. He is scrumptious gorgeous xx (sic)."
A second supporter reacted: "Absolutely gorgeous, congratulations Adam xx (sic)."
And a third follower said: "Congratulations brother! Happy for you both! Enjoy parenthood! (sic)"
Adam and Olivia announced that they were set to become first-time parents in May.
The ex-Emmerdale star took to Instagram and posted a black-and-white shot of the baby scan, alongside an adorable baby grow and a pair of little booties.
Adam penned over the picture: "It’s official, baby Woodward due… coming August 2026."
A separate photo showed the soap star kissing Olivia's bump, with the caption: "Incoming bada**."
Adam joined Hollyoaks in 2017 as Brody, but four years later, his character was killed by Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) in a hit-and-run to stop Brody from going to the police to expose Warren's involvement in the murder of Cormac Ranger (James Gaddas).
The entertainer won the 2019 British Soap Award for Best Male Dramatic Performance for his performance as Brody.
Adam also dated fellow Hollyoaks star Sophie Porley (Ellie Nightingale) from 2018 until 2020.
In 2015, Adam made a brief guest appearance in Emmerdale as Grant, a guest at The Grange bed and breakfast, before he made another brief stint in the ITV soap two years later as Nathan, a male escort.
