Talking about why Miley Cyrus was cast in the new movie ‘Drive-Away Dolls’ as a plaster caster of men’s privates, its makers have said it’s because the singer is obsessed with phalluses.
Miley Cyrus landed her latest film role as a plaster caster of men’s privates as she “loves” phalluses.
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer, 31, plays the part in director Ethan Coen’s ‘Drive-Away Dolls’ alongside Margaret Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan, Colman Domingo and Pedro Pascal.
Its co-writer Tricia Cooke, 58, said Miley’s character was based on real-life penis ‘sculptor’ Cynthia Plaster Caster, who died in 2022 aged 74 after rising to fame creating plaster casts of stars’ male members.
Tricia told The Wrap about why she thought Miley was a perfect fit for the part: “I was telling (her) about Cynthia Plaster Caster, ‘I don’t know if you know, your character’s based on Cynthia.’
“She’s like, ‘I thought that’s why you called me.’ Big fondness for Cynthia Plaster Caster.”
Tricia added Miley is so “into her phalluses” she allegedly “has a whole room devoted to phalluses” at her home.
‘Fargo’ filmmaker Ethan, 66, joked in the joint chat with Tricia: “Miley loves her (penises.)
“That’s her thing too. She’s into that, both the retro hippie thing and the whole phallus-moulding thing.”
Cynthia Plaster Caster’s real name was Cynthia Albritton, with the artist’s casts of celebrities’ privates including Jimi Hendrix.
She also produced casts of the members of MC5’s Wayne Kramer, Pete Shelley of the Buzzcocks, and Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys.
Miley’s scenes in ‘Drive-Away Dolls’ – about two lesbian lovers on the run from gangsters – are psychedelic and also feature Matt Damon.
Tricia said the singer was “just game for anything” and “whatever you ask her to do”’.
She added: “We wanted to do this low shot that was kind of pushing into her and we’re like, ‘Do you mind if we go down here?’
“She’s like, ‘I’ve done much worse.’
Ethan added: “She is so much fun… at 29 years old, she’s – I mean it in the best sense – like an old show-business broad: ‘Yeah, whatever, honey. All you need.’”
Miley has claimed she was “kicked off” the 2012 family-friendly film ‘Hotel Transylvania’ after a photo of her with a penis cake for then-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth emerged.
