Prince Harry leaves Britain after brief meeting with cancer-battling dad King Charles
A day after he had a meeting said to have lasted under 30 minutes with his ill dad King Charles, Prince Harry has left the UK following his dash back to London to see the monarch following his cancer diagnosis.
Prince Harry has already left Britain after his brief meeting with his cancer-battling dad King Charles.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, dashed back to the UK from his home in the US on Tuesday (06.02.24) where he had a reported 30-minute meeting with the monarch, 75, who was revealed on Monday (05.02.24) to be fighting an undisclosed form of cancer.
Harry was spotted getting on a plane at Heathrow Airport, London, on Wednesday (07.02.24) – as his estranged brother Prince William, 41, resumed his royal duties by hosting an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The duke’s meeting with Charles – who had a corrective procedure in January at The London Clinic after it was discovered he had an enlarged prostate – was at Clarence House, where insiders said they had a “quick chat” lasting under 30 minutes.
It was understood to be their first face-to-face meeting in 16 months.
Harry’s wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 42, stayed at their mansion in California to look after their children Prince Archie, four, and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Harry immediately got on a flight to see his dad after Buckingham Palace’s announcement on Monday Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.
The palace said in a statement: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
Harry attended the king’s coronation in May 2023 without his wife, though the pair recently had a phone call with Charles on his 75th birthday.
