Lindsay Lohan feels "very hurt" by a joke in the new 'Mean Girls' movie.

The 37-year-old actress starred as Cady Heron in the 2004 teen comedy and although she makes a cameo appearance in the new 'Mean Girls' movie, Lindsay actually feels upset by one particular joke in the film.

A rep for the Hollywood star told The Messenger: "Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film."

In the new movie, rap star Megan Thee Stallion says: "We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!"

The comment is a reference to an infamous remark made by oil heir Brandon Davis back in 2006, when he called Lindsay the name during a night out in Los Angeles.

The new movie is written by Tina Fey, who recently revealed that she was delighted by Lindsay's cameo appearance.

Tina, 53, told Entertainment Weekly: "Paramount was like, 'Can you get any of the original ladies?' And I was like, 'I can't fit five people in'. I felt like if I could only get one person as a surprise, the original movie is really Lindsay's movie."

Lindsay plays a Mathlete moderator in the new film, and Tina was thrilled to reunite with the actress.

She said: "As great as [the original cast] are, she's the heart of that movie. And I thought, well, what could she do? I didn't think [she should] play a teacher.

"And just to have her do that late in the movie, it also feels like it comes, I hope, at a time where fans weren't expecting one more little surprise. It also lets her be smart, which Cady is."
