The 50-year-old actor and his fiancée Sharna Burgess, 38, welcomed their first child together, son Zane, 18 months, into the world in June 2022, and he decided it was "time to close the shop" eight weeks after the youngster's birth.

Speaking on his, Sharna and Randy Spelling's 'Old-ish' podcast, Brian - who also has sons Noah, 10, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, seven, with his ex-wife Megan Fox, and 21-year-old son Kassius, from his relationship with Vanessa Marcil - said: "So, funny story. I haven’t really planned for any of my kids.

"Every time it’s been, ‘Oh, it’s OK. We can do this.'

"I love my kids and I wasn’t against any of them, but I’ve never experienced that thing of looking at a pregnancy test and hoping that it’s positive and preparing that way.

"Zane was born and I was like, 'I think it's time to close the shop.'"

Sharna feels "really grateful" to Brian for undergoing a vasectomy, because birth control has "always made [her] feel crazy".

She added: "It was a beautiful thing that Brian did because birth control always made me feel crazy.

"So, I was really, really grateful for that.

"It was such a big and beautiful thing he did, and it secures comfort and no stress in our sex life; not worry about it, if we are or we aren’t [pregnant], which is such a gift.

"And we can move forward and plan if that should be in the stars for us."

Last September, Brian confirmed he and Sharna were engaged after he popped the question in June.

Brian explained he proposed during a surprise party Sharna hosted, calling it "the perfect place to do it".

A shocked Sharna admitted she "never saw it coming".

He enlisted the help of his sons, and after gathering his family around, he asked Journey to present a red Cartier box.

Brian then opened it and asked Sharna: "Will you spend the rest of your life with us?"

Speaking on 'Old-ish', he explained: "I had this idea in my head that I wanted the kids to be a part of it, because they're a part of everything."
