Britney Spears celebrates her memoir making publishing history: ‘It’s the highest selling celebrity memoir!’
After only one day in print, Britney Spears has claimed her tell-all autobiography ‘The Woman in Me’ has made publishing history by becoming the world’s fastest-selling celebrity life story.
Britney Spears is celebrating her memoir making publishing history.
The ‘Toxic’ singer, 41, released her ‘The Woman in Me’ autobiography on Tuesday (24.10.23) after weeks of headlines about the book’s contents after it accidentally went on sale early in Mexico, and has now revealed it is the world’s fastest-selling celebrity life story.
She thanked her “supportive” fans in an Instagram post on Tuesday that said: “It’s happening!!! My book is the highest selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1!!!
“Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive!!! Love you all!!! #TheWomanInMe @gallerybooks @simonandschuster.”
The book is now top of Amazon’s Best Sellers and Barnes and Noble’s Best Sellers lists, just over 24 hours since its official release.
the day after the memoir’s release.
Among the bombshells in the book is that Britney aborted Justin Timberlake’s baby when they were dating between 1999 and 2002 as he didn’t want to become a dad.
She also hits out at her dad for his controlling behaviour during her controversial 13-year conservatorship, which was officially ended last year in court, giving the singer control back over her life and finances.
Britney also revealed she infamously shaved her head in 2007 as a way of “pushing back” against the years of control.
And she accuses Justin, now 42, of cheating on her with two famous women while they were together – one of whom is believed to be All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, 48.
She says about her pregnancy with Justin it was “a surprise” but not “a tragedy”.
Britney added: “I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.
“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
