The Darkness have released the new single 'I Hate Myself'.
The rockers released the second track from their upcoming album 'Dreams On Toast' on Tuesday (10.12.24) following its premiere on Jo Whiley's BBC Radio 2 show on Monday (09.12.24).
'I Hate Myself' features frontman Justin Hawkins in self-deprecating mode as he tells the story of a relationship breakdown while pointing the finger squarely at himself.
Justin said: "At last, a joyous, raucous celebration of self-loathing. I think without regrets we stand to learn less from our experiences – to deny them and compartmentalise them is to deny ourselves an opportunity to grow.
"So, it's time for us to sing this uplifting ode to remorse in the hope that we don't make the same mistakes again and history does not repeat itself."
Fans will be treated to an exclusive life performance of 'I Hate Myself' during the first two of six sold-out Rough Trade in-stores taking place this week in London, Nottingham and Liverpool.
The group will be performing material from 'Dreams On Toast' – which is slated for release in March 2025 – live for the first time, including the popular single 'The Longest Kiss'.
Following the intimate Rough Trade shows, The Darkness will be hitting the road again on a much larger scale across the UK next year. The band will be playing 18 shows around the country before finishing at London's OVO Wembley Arena on March 29.
