Colin Jost has mocked Donald Trump for repeatedly praising a Republican senator's backside while campaigning ahead of the US midterm elections.
The 44-year-old comedian played clips of the president discussing Ohio Senator Jon Husted's physique during Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update segment on Saturday (31.10.26).
Trump, 80, had repeatedly described examining Husted's body during recent campaign appearances, even comparing his backside to a pile of muscle.
Jost joked that the president appeared more interested in men's appearances than the approaching elections.
The comedian then turned his attention to Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, suggesting he must be disappointed that his televised workouts had failed to attract similar praise from Trump.
He also brought Vice President JD Vance into the joke after Vance admitted being jealous that the president had never complimented his body.
Jost told viewers: "Stop playing 'smash or pass' with each other."
The comedian returned to the subject while discussing Trump's complaints about the strain that frequent campaign rallies had placed on his voice.
Trump had previously told reporters that God had not designed people's vocal cords to withstand speaking at rallies every day.
Jost responded by joking that Husted's backside appeared to have greater staying power than the president's voice.
The 'Weekend Update' host also poked fun at Trump's efforts to encourage Republican voters ahead of Tuesday's (03.11.26) elections.
Trump had urged supporters to close their eyes and imagine that he was personally on the ballot.
Jost repeated the appeal before suggesting someone might particularly appreciate those words, as a photograph of First Lady Melania Trump appeared on screen.
The Halloween edition of Saturday Night Live was hosted by actress Inde Navarrette, with singer Gracie Abrams appearing as the musical guest.
Jost was joined by his regular Weekend Update co-host Michael Che, who delivered his own jokes about American politics and international affairs.
