Loose Women's Mariella Frostrup in 'advanced talks' to join I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
Loose Women panellist Mariella Frostrup could be heading Down Under next month to take part in the 2026 series of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.
Loose Women panellist Mariella Frostrup is reportedly in advanced talks to join this year's series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.
Bosses of the ITV jungle survival show are keen to sign the 63-year-old broadcaster, as they think she may spill the tea on some A-listers, including Hollywood star George Clooney, 65, whom she reportedly dated, while chatting with her fellow co-stars in the Australian critter-filled camp.
A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "This is a really prestige signing for I’m A Celebrity, and it’s fair to say she isn’t the sort of character you necessarily expect to see heading into camp.
"With a career in broadcasting and journalism, she’s likely to have a wealth of anecdotes to share with her campmates."
Journalist Mariella, who has interviewed the likes of music legend Sir Paul McCartney, 84, and the late singer George Michael, would not be the first Loose Women star to head Down Under for the programme.
Myleene Klass, 48, Jane Moore, 64, Janet Street-Porter, 79, Linda Robson, 68, and Stacey Solomon, 37, have all taken part in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! previously, with the latter being crowned the Queen of the Jungle in 2010.
Mariella previously said she wants to be more adventurous as she gets older.
The Sun quoted her as saying: "You come to an understanding that you’re living the second part of your life.
"And actually - far from wanting it to get smaller and less inspiring and just to chug along til you slip off this mortal coil - you want to cram in all of the things that you feel like you haven’t done."
Mariella reportedly being in advanced talks to join the show comes a day after former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, 35, withdrew to care for her twin girls Ocean and Story, who have the muscle-wasting condition, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 1.
A source told The Sun: "Jesy was so excited about joining I’m A Celebrity, mainly because it was giving her a platform to continue her campaigning for SMA.
"She has already helped change Government policy over testing newborns for the condition.
"I’m A Celeb was going to be where she could spread her message even further, and show a side to her the public may not have seen before."
The source added: "It’s with a very heavy heart she has pulled out.
"Ocean and Story are unwell, and there is no way Jesy would leave them. Her family are her priority.
"ITV have been amazing and are supporting her all the way. The door will always be left open for Jesy."
A show source added: "Producers were gutted that Jesy couldn’t be part of this year’s series."
Other stars rumoured to be taking part in this year's series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! include Gavin and Stacey actress Joanna Page, 49, Big Brother host AJ Odudu, 38, and 41-year-old former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.
ITV has not announced a return date for the programme, hosted by Ant McPartlin, 50, and Declan Donnelly, 51, but it typically starts in November.
