Oasis legend Liam Gallagher has confirmed he was asked about appearing on The Celebrity Traitors, but he turned it down.
Liam Gallagher has confirmed he turned down an offer to go on The Celebrity Traitors.
The Oasis legend has revealed he was asked to go on the BBC's megahit game show but he spurned the advances of the production team because he doesn't want to be seen as a celeb.
Responding to a fan suggesting he should head into the famous castle, he wrote on X: "I've been asked it's not my thing I'm not a celebrity".
The fan was quick to respond, as they quipped: "Whoops sorry, I meant NORMAL TRAITORS."
Liam was reported as one of the names been linked for the second series of the second celebrity spinoff series.
In another exchange, the 54-year-old Britpop icon suggested he likes to stay grounded, revealing that his plans for the day involved "some spiritual stuffs then a bit of ironing".
When a social media follower seemed surprised he did his own chores, Liam replied: "I don't trust anyone ironing my clothes your just asking for theatre (sic)".
Meanwhile, before Oasis shocked the world by getting back together for tour in 2025, Liam previously suggested he and his brother Noel could have brought their rivalry to the Great British Bake Off.
Back in 2020, he quipped: "Maybe we’ll just bake some bread and that, or a cake, or throw strawberries at each other. Have a cream fight. That kind of stuff. Now you’re talking."
As well as the Wonderwall hitmaker, other rumoured stars like Danny Dyer, Alison Hammond, Daisy May Cooper, Tom Hiddleston, Jason Manford, Bob Mortimer and Ruth Jones didn't end up being part of the cast for The Celebrity Traitors this year.
However, bosses still managed to secure a star-studded group, with the likes of Richard E. Grant, Bella Ramsey, Ross Kemp, James Blunt, Michael Sheen, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Miranda Hart.
Veteran actor Richard was selected as one of two starting traitors alongside Love Island host Maya Jama, and he caused a stir by admitting his role as soon as Joe Lycett asked him in the bar.
In the second episode, he and Maya - as well as newly recruited Traitor James Acaster - have been attempting to save him and turn the tide.
Journalist Amol Rajan was the first contestant to be murdered this series after he and comedian James had to plead for their lives in the game as they met the Traitors face to face.
On Thursday (08.10.26), the series will continue as the roundtable resumes with pressure mounting on Richard.
