Richard E. Grant is hoping for "some leeway" on The Celebrity Traitors as one of the "geriatrics".

The 69-year-old actor has pointed to himself and Jerry Hall, 70, as part of the 'old guard' on the hit BBC show, and he admitted there was no real way to prepare for the more physical side of the experience.

He told the BBC: "There's no preparation. Jerry Hall and I are the geriatrics of the great group.

"So, I’m rather hoping there will be some leeway about whether we're expected to bungee jump off the castle's wall."

However, supermodel Jerry appears to have a very different outlook on the missions, as she admitted she's "quite excited".

She said: "I am the oldest person doing it, but I am quite an active person. I don't sit down much.

"I have a lot of animals - two dogs, a cat, three horses, eight chickens.

"I do a lot of gardening. I'm very, very busy, and then I babysit my three grandchildren a lot. I'm quite an active person so I think I'll be okay."

However, her children have urged her to "be careful" and not overestimate her own abilities.

She added: "I did tell my four children, and I told Mick [Jagger] that if any of the children had a problem, they were to call him because I was busy!

"My children said, 'Mom, don't do anything dangerous. Be careful!' They worry.

"They’re like, 'You think you're younger than you are. You and Dad are always doing things that you did in your twenties that maybe you shouldn't be doing now!' You know, stuff like that."

Meanwhile, Jerry noted her family are "all very competitive" whenever they're playing games together.

But she added: "I'm going to try to behave myself on the show. I'm going to try and be a good sport."

Richard also has a competitive edge, which he thinks comes with his day job.

He explained: "Oh yes. You have to be if you're an actor. You can’t survive the profession without being so. It's too brutal."

Jerry and Richard will be joined in the castle by the likes of James Blunt, Martin Sheen, Ross Kemp and Bella Ramsay.

The Celebrity Traitors returns tonight (01.10.26)at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
