Celebrity Traitors host Claudia Winkleman is banned from wearing jewellery and "noisy" fabric during filming.
The TV star fronts the hit BBC show and the all-star spin-off, which returns to TV on Thursday night (01..10.26) - but it's now been revealed producers keep a close eye on her stylish costumes to make sure noises from jewellery or fabric doesn't accidentally reveal who has been picked to be Traitors as she walks around the round table tapping them on the shoulder.
Speaking at an event to launch the new series, executive producer Sarah Fay explained: "Claudia is not allowed jewellery when we do the Traitors pick. We’re very strict on that, in case it jangles."
Claudia added she also has to be mindful about the fabric she wears in case some rogue rustling gives the game away, adding: "Yes, and there's some fabric that I think are noisy, even though I've been told fabric does not make a noise."
The TV star admitted she also has to be careful about the footwear she chooses, adding: "I would like to do a more attractive sort of [shoe], but I'm too scared.
"Sometimes I just want to wear a flat, but I can't. I have to do spiky, noisy, scary shoes. I feel like I’m doing flamenco because I stop a lot."
Claudia added of her Traitors style: "[It's] Human Crow meets Golf Caddy meets the Artful Dodger. I'm pretty happy with it."
Speaking last year, the TV star explained how she ramps up the tension during the the Traitor pick at the round table.
She said: "The walk around the table is very tense. I can’t tell you how many times I walk around it, but I really try to build the tension, which is hideously mean but also quite addictive.
"I try and wear clompy footwear to add to it. It gets a bit flamenco. [Celebrity Traitors star] Alan [Carr] recently said I walk around the table like a cart horse, and he’s bang on."
The Celebrity Traitors returns to the BBC on Thursday (01.10.26) and features famous faces including Michael Sheen, Ross Kemp, Jerry Hall, Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant.
