Celebrity Traitors star Maya Jama has confessed she was given advice by former contestant Jonathan Ross before filming the BBC show.

Jonathan starred in the first series of the hit BBC show - in which the Faithfuls have to track down the Traitors amongst them before they are "murdered" - and Maya is starring in season two alongside famous faces including Michael Sheen, Ross Kemp, Jerry Hall and Richard E. Grant.
She's now confessed she was given tips by Traitor Jonathan while working on The Masked Singer with him. According to The Sun newspaper, she said: "I love the show.
"I watched the last celebrity series and I have always wanted to do some kind of challenge game show, but there’s never really been the right one.
"I spoke to Jonathan Ross because we do The Masked Singer together, and he told me I’d love it.
"The only thing he warned me about was not having my phone [as they are banned during filming]. I’m actually looking at it as a chance to have a little digital detox.
"I also wanted to do something where people get to see more of my personality."
Maya went on to admit she decided against trying to put on a front while filming, adding: "If I try too hard or start pretending to be someone I’m not, I’ll probably catch myself out - especially if I end up being a Traitor.
"I’ve met a few people in the cast, but nobody really knows me, so we’re all starting from scratch. Just being myself is my best strategy.
"I just want to have a laugh and enjoy the experience. If it goes well, then great. Sometimes, you actually do better when you’re relaxed and not overthinking everything."
Maya added: "When I told my mum and my best friend [about doing the show], they were both like: 'Absolutely, go for it!' They were laughing because they just couldn’t picture me in that environment.
"They kept saying: 'If someone starts interrogating you, you’ll start giggling'. They’re probably right. I’m not naturally very serious, and obviously this is a very serious game. It’ll be interesting to see whether I can keep a straight face."
The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One on October 1.
