Kirstie Allsopp gives health update after horror fall that saw her be airlifted to hospital
Kirstie Allsopp revealed last week that she was airlifted to hospital and underwent emergency surgery after she slipped while walking along the beach at Welcombe Mouth in Devon.
Kirstie Allsopp is "healing" following a horror fall that saw her airlifted to hospital last week.
The Location, Location, Location presenter shared a shot of herself in the back of an ambulance with tubes attached to her face, revealing she had slipped while walking along the beach at Welcombe Mouth in Devon and required emergency surgery, in an Instagram post on September 2.
And for the past week, Kirstie, 55, has been "in bed" resting her leg, which she joked "looks like I’ve been bitten by a shark" due to the blood and stitches.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (09.09.26), the property expert shared photos showing her recovery, including a picture of her injured leg, with the caption: "So..1 week and 1 day after the surgery there is quite a lot of feeling in my toes, and all the way up my leg, but I’m learning and healing and this exercise in patience and humility may turn out to be good for me.
"I wanted to again say Thank You So Much to every one who helped me get to today, and for all your kind and cheering messages. (sic)"
Kirstie said she has hired a Game Ready System, a medical device that combines cold therapy and intermittent pneumatic compression to help reduce pain and swelling after surgery or injury, and described it as a "genius invention", which the star "highly recommends".
The Love It or List It host continued: "I am in bed but the dog is thrilled, I have hired a gamereadyhireuk which is a genius invention, I highly recommend it.
"I got sent a book by @biscuiteersltd which is very inspiring and we are going to go ahead and film the Christmas show in October as planned. I will be sitting down with my leg stuck out, but we’ll work around it. (sic)"
Kirstie has sons Bay, 20, and Oscar, 18, with her husband, real estate agent Ben Andersen, and is also stepmother to his sons Hal and Orion from a previous marriage.
She added: "Occasionally the boys pop in to chat and bring friends, although next week they will both be at uni, and my leg looks like I’ve been bitten by a shark, but there are grapes and Frasier and I may publish a book called A Leg with a View next year. (sic)"
Kirstie's Location, Location, Location, and Love It or List It co-presenter Phil Spencer, 56, led the well-wishes in the post's comments section.
He penned: "You're being very brave and stoical. Be still and heal properly. Xx (sic)"
A fan reacted: "Wow what a wound! What a bedroom to rest in. As someone who spent 3 months on bed rest after ankle surgery, I can highly recommend crochet. I hope you’re healing well x (sic)"
And a second supporter typed: "Sending lots of love Kirsty. Mx (sic)."
