Scarlet Vas expecting second child with 'step-brother'
Scarlet Vas and Tayo Ricci, her husband and 'step-brother', are set to give their daughter Silva a sibling.
Scarlet Vas is having her second child with her 'step-brother'.
The Neighbours alum and her 29-year-old husband, musician Tayo Ricci – who are "definitely not blood-related", despite two of their parents marrying before they wed last September – took to Instagram on Tuesday (18.08.26) and shared they are expecting a sibling for their daughter Silva.
In the sweet video, Scarlet and Tayo, who carried Silva, walked towards the edge of a cliff that overlooked the stunning crystal blue sea before the pair kissed, and he pulled out a photo strip of their baby scan from the front of her jeans.
The couple's joint post was captioned: "We couldn’t keep this a secret any longer…"
Fans rushed to the upload's comments section to congratulate Tayo and Scarlet, who played cop Mishti Sharm in the Australian soap for 18 months until her exit in October 2018.
One penned: "Such amazing news! I can’t wait to meet the little one."
A second supporter typed: "Congratulations. Silva will be the best big sister. Love yall x (sic)."
And a third follower wrote: "Boy or Girl. Both blessings. Congrats."
Scarlet and Tayo welcomed Silva into the world on Christmas Day 2024, a year after they got married in Mykonos, Greece.
The pair first met as teenagers while growing up in Melbourne, but they did not start dating until years later.
In November 2024, she told news.com.au: "We were about 13 years old when we first met through mutual friends. Our families knew each other, and they introduced us, I guess you could say. So, we’ve known each other for a very long time."
Scarlet and Tayo became "family" after two of their parents got married shortly before they wed.
The couple keeps their family connection private, but stressed that she and Tayo are "definitely not blood-related".
Some people have trolled Scarlet and Tayo about their relationship, but they do not let the comments get to them.
She said: "Honestly, it doesn’t affect us because we have each other. I don’t really read our comments section, but if I do, I actually laugh. We find trolls very entertaining.
"If something’s really negative, we might comment back, we find it is quite a good disarming tactic."
