Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks team up for documentary exploring male self-improvement
Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks' new ITV series Dying To Look Good is set to air at some point in 2027.
Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks are teaming up for an ITV documentary about male self-improvement.
The two friends and podcast hosts are joining forces on upcoming ITV2 and ITVX series Sam and Pete: Dying to Look Good, which is being produced by Crackit TV and is set to air in 2027.
ITV teased: "As they observe just how far some will go to look better, feel stronger and cheat the clock, Sam and Pete will be witnessing life changing transformations - and even trying out some of the latest trends for themselves - to better understand the gruelling realities of the treatments and procedures that have the men’s health and beauty industry booming."
During the series, the pair will speak to the men who are "redefining what it means to be a modern man of today".
They will explore trends like looksmaxxing, testosterone boosting and biohacking, as well as the lengths some people will go to in a bid for "physical perfection".
ITV added: "From bonesmashing to bodybuilding, cryotherapy to cosmetics, Sam and Pete will immerse themselves in the surprising and at times shocking universe of male self improvement, giving audiences an access all areas insight into the men taking bold steps in their quest for perfection."
Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment, Reality and Daytime at ITV, promised that the series will be boosted by Sam and Pete's "authentic brand of humour and curiosity".
She said: "Beauty and wellness regimes are becoming more extreme for men as well as women and, with their authentic brand of humour and curiosity, Sam and Pete are the perfect choices to front this fascinating close up on the culture that is keeping men determined to stay young and flawless.”
And Elaine Hackett, CEO of Crackit TV, opened up on why this series is coming at the right time.
She explained: “Scroll through social media for five minutes and men will be told they need a better jawline, thicker hair, higher testosterone, whiter teeth and somehow a morning routine that starts at 4am.
"This series isn’t about judging the people buying into these trends; it’s about understanding why so many men are, and what that says about modern masculinity.
"Sam and Pete are right in the thick of navigating their own health and wellbeing, and having them on this journey will be eye-opening.”
