Anna Williamson reveals she SPAT at King Charles in embarrassing royal encounter
Celebs Go Dating star Anna Williamson has recalled unintentionally spitting on King Charles while eating risotto when she attended a charity event at the monarch's Highgrove residence.
Anna Williamson accidentally spat on King Charles while eating risotto.
The Celebs Go Dating star has opened up about the mortifying incident with the monarch when she first met him at a King's Trust event.
Asked for her most "embarrassing celebrity encounter", Anna told the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast: "I've had quite a few.
"One of them that springs to mind involves our monarch, the King."
The 45-year-old presenter went on: "I have been a long-time ambassador of the now King's Trust, was the Prince's Trust.
"When I first met His Royal Highness, now His Majesty, it was at a little reception in Highgrove garden, and I sort of flapped around not knowing... everyone sort of does it, how to greet the King, what do you do?
"You can do a variety of things that are respectful, but I did all of them at one go: a curtsey, a bow, a handshake...
"I then fell forwards with the risotto, spat risotto in the King's face, curtseyed but stumbled on the paving slab, fell into him so he had to sort of push me back up again.
"I stumbled mid-curtsey because I'd committed to all of it and fell into him and had to be pulled off him."
Anna admits that she was surprised by the "chilled" reaction of the King and his security personnel.
She said: "Actually everyone was quite chilled.
"It was more the people I was with that were laughing with and at me.
"I mean, fortunately there's one person that can take the p*** out of myself and that's me. Security were quite nice.
"He did himself offer to collect me and stand me back up again with security, but it was how I broke the ice with the King."
Meanwhile, Anna has refused to rule out having a third child.
The star – who has children Vincenzo, nine, and Eleanora, six, with her fitness coach husband Alex Di Pasquale – told Woman magazine in May: "It's probably not on my radar now, but never say never. Life has so many twists and turns, and often the unexpected happens."
The dating expert suggested that she may explore a different route to expanding her and Alex's brood if she can convince her spouse.
Anna said: "I've wanted to adopt or foster since I was a teenager, so who knows? I've got to get the husband on side first."
