Ben Ofoedu is taking steps to make his dream of having children come true.
Ben Ofoedu has done a fertility test to see if he can have children with his wife Vanessa Brown.
The Phats and Small singer has always wanted to get married and start a family. And a year since he and the entrepreneur, 31, said "I do" at the Rose Castle in Cumbria last July, Ben visited Bridge Clinic in London to begin making his second wish come true.
Ben, 54, told the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential column: "I am 23 years older than my partner, and I decided that I should go and get checked out as it hasn’t happened yet.
"I want to start a family, and a lot of males don’t go and get checked out to make sure that everything’s kind of working properly.
"Sometimes with males they just assume it’s the female - 'Oh, she can’t conceive', and it could be him that’s the problem. So for a man like me, I’m an advocate for going and getting checked out."
The Turn Around hitmaker added: "I think she’s fine because she’s so much younger than me. So I feel it would just be down to me on whether we can conceive."
Ben - whose 16-year relationship with TV presenter Vanessa Feltz ended in 2023 - is eagerly awaiting his results to come through this week before he and his spouse, nicknamed "Vanessa 2.0", decide their next steps.
The Brit Award nominee said: "I feel for once in my life, I’m taking charge of my destiny. I was advised that if there was a problem, there’s a lot of contributing factors that can be reversed."
Before the fertility test, Ben "had to abstain for five days", which he declared was "very difficult".
In April 2025, the Feel Good artist told how he was "so excited to be getting married" because "it's one of the dreams I've always had".
And Vanessa added that they got hitched so that they could "start a family soon".
She continued: "And, spiritually, it's the right thing to do."
