Joanne McNally stars in the upcoming second series of The Celebrity Traitors.
Filming of The Celebrity Traitors was briefly disrupted after Joanne McNally vaped in the show's famed castle.
Producers of the BBC's star-studded game of backstabbing, deceit, and betrayal temporarily stopped shooting inside Ardross Castle, Scottish Highlands, to remind the 43-year-old comedienne that vaping cannot be shown on TV.
Appearing on the latest episode of comics Alan Carr - who won The Celebrity Traitors in 2025 - and Lee Peart's Bottom's Up podcast, Joanne revealed: "I remember we were chatting, having a real deep and meaningful. And they had to cut the filming.
"And they came in, amd they're like, 'Joanne, you can't vape in the castle.' I was really into this conversation, pulling on this vape because you do feel very relaxed in the castle after a while."
And that made the writer forget cameras were filming her and her co-stars, including singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 34, funnyman Rob Beckett, 40, and 31-year-old Love Island host Maya Jama.
Joanne added: "And I always thought that was horses*** when I'd watch Big Brother before.
"I was like, 'As if you could forget the cameras were there.' But you do, actually."
The Celebrity Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, 54, sees some stars secretly 'murder' other contestants, while the remaining players, known as the Faithfuls, try to identify and banish them from the castle.
And comedian Romesh Ranganathan, 48, thought the game show was more "fake" before he signed up for its second series.
On the June 24 episode of BBC's The One Show, Romesh told hosts Alex Jones, 49, and 52-year-old Vernon Kay: "Even as I begin to speak now, I feel incredibly nervous because I can't give anything away, but what I can say is, I thought that it was faker than it is.
"What I mean is, I thought you rock up, just have a go, and then you go home."
Romesh "couldn't believe" how immersive The Celebrity Traitors is.
He added: "You are in the game the whole time you're in the game, and that took me by surprise. It becomes all-encompassing; it's a pretty amazing experience."
Joining Joanne, Leigh-Anne, Rob, Maya, and Romesh on The Celebrity Traitors are Bella Ramsey, 22; Ross Kemp, 61; Hannah Fry, 42; James Acaster, 41; James Blunt, 52; Jerry Hall, 69; and 37-year-old Joe Lycett.
The line-up is rounded out by Julie Hesmondhalgh, 56, Michael Sheen, 57, King Kenny, 29, Miranda Hart, 53, Sebastian Croft, 24, Sharon Rooney, 37, Myha'la, 30, and 69-year-old Richard E. Grant.
Series two of The Celebrity Traitors airs later this year.
